DL 48

The impact Different League is having on the Ottenwalter Show Pigs program has been blatantly obvious by anyone who has been paying attention and he’s quickly earning his reputation as the next “Wedding Night” here in Colusa. Amongst a plethora of other winners, DL sired the Grand Overall Gilt at Texas State Fair last fall and he has been our most popular sire ever to stand in stud.

It’s been no secret the dominance that Streber Genetics has enjoyed these past few years and that program was built almost entirely around Different League’s grandma, Different League’s mom, and her sisters. In addition to having raised Different League, OG, and Easy 4 U, those females are responsible for the Grand Barrow at Houston ’25, the Champion Div 1 Cross Gilt at SA ’25, the Champion Crossbred Gilt at Dallas ’24, the Champion Heavyweight Cross Barrow at Houston ’24, and most recently the $90K boar pig Streber sold to Premium Blend at the Get Together.

On the momma side of DL 48, his End Game momma (pictured) is visually as impressive as anything you’ll find roaming the sow lots in Colusa, and grand dam 191-1 (also pictured) was one of our cornerstone females that has put many daughters back into the herd. The extended pedigree goes back to Newcastle bloodlines with the Wedding Night female being out of a (Fortune x Pipeline) sow who was Grand at CA State Fair several years back and bred by Newcastle. Added bonus here is the 41-11 dam and 191-1 grand dam of DL 48 are about as productive as they come in terms of having large litters and raising them: 41-11 boasts an average of over 11 born and nine weaned in her three litters for us. .

Needless to say, as good as the DL deal has been, we have made it a priority to identify his elite sons and DL 48 has risen to the forefront as the stoutest, most different one of them all. He takes bone and hair to the level we all dream about and with a double bred End Game pedigree we expect him to sire true to that phenotype.
