  • Lonely Road is a true breeding boar and a TREMENDOUS option for those wanting to make solid whites and light crosses! When we mated his momma to Walks Alone our intention was not to make a boar, but Lonely Road was one of those that had “boar” written all over him and he’s never not looked extremely impressive every day of his life.
  • We believe our program and our industry as a whole is at a place where more purebreds need to be infused into these crosses, so we made a commitment to use several York boars across our program to make females and we have a mouth-watering set of white gilts in the pipeline. Lonely Road exemplifies what we are trying to do in terms of adding bone, ribcage, chest, skull, and hair texture. There is a TON of power to this guy no matter what angle you view him — through his chest, his cage, and his topside is tremendous. He has a big noggin, big toes, a big tail root, and most importantly he’s so loose structured and flexible.
  • Lonely Road has seen good use within our program on those females with a sharp image and good shape that just need to be built better. He’s a tremendous option to breed to first time gilts, no matter the color to get them bred with a good-sized litter of stout made, good, square built pigs! Perhaps his most exciting attribute is the quality of his mother and her two sisters that are three of our very best sows working in Colusa. They are highly linebred (3 Peat x On Target 108-2 x Renig 28-8 x Perfect Remedy 4-8), and their 108-2 dam is also American Spirit’s mom. Lonely Road’s mom has averaged 10.8 born live and 8.8 weaned over five litters, and her two sisters have put up similar numbers, 11.4 and 11.8 avg born alive respectively. They are the “good stuff”, and while you can bet on this boar making daughters to further our program, we are also betting on him making plenty of champion barrows.
