  • Sired the 2019 NAILE Champion Middleweight and the 2019 Arizona Nationals Reserve Supreme Champion Gilt
  • The great pair of 13-2 boars (Good Time and Up Down) has had us extremely pumped up all fall and we couldn’t wait to start breeding sows!
  • Up Down comes from a tremendous first parity dam that has the potential to be one of our very best ever, Wedding Night 24-3. She was shown by Alia Rodgers here in California last year where she was named Grand Champion Overall at the big 2017 California Pork Spectacular and also Grand Champion Overall at the highly competitive Napa County Fair. She’s one of the great show gilts we’ve produced and one of those kind that’s so complete she was going to win no matter where she showed. Her sister was also named Grand Champion Market Hog at the Jackson County Fair in Oregon. However, what’s more exciting is her pedigree. Her dam was our $12,000 Sweethearts for the Summer Sale consignment in 2015 that’s made a big impact on our program. Her grand dam is Monster Square 46-1 — the dam of both the Grand Barrow at the 2017 Indiana State Fair and the Grand Overall Commercial Gilt at 2018 OYE– and her great grand dam would be Warfare 73-6 (Scared Straight, Straight Survivor, and Tombstone’s mom)
  • From the get go this rascal looked like a winning show barrow and he was the one we had to retain out of our great spring crop, which included the Grand Overall Barrow at the Texas State Fair and the Reserve Grand Overall Barrow at Tulsa. Up Down is extra tall fronted and short backed. To go along with it and he offers a monster topside with a big pin set and a SHARP look through his front end. His pasterns are impeccable, his length of stride and flexibility off his rear two is textbook, and he will breed lots of them here in Colusa going into this next breeding season.
  • Spring 2020 Update: Up Down continues to be our “go to” choice for stouter made females like Wedding Night daughters. He will sire tall fronted, extended pigs and improve structural integrity in terms of pasterns and squareness behind. Many of his best are headed to Texas majors this spring.
